Fees

 Fees

My fee for a 60 minute session is $180.

I am happy to offer a free, thirty-minute consultation. This initial meeting is a chance for us to get to know each other better. If we find that we are not a good fit for each other, I will offer to provide you with a referral for another therapist who may be better able to serve you.

Payment is due upon time of service, and all major HSA, FSA, debit and credit cards are accepted. We ask for 24 hours notice for any cancellations or rescheduling, otherwise you will be responsible for the fee for that session.

The first session after our consultation will involve completing paperwork. I recommend that clients attend sessions weekly, initially. It is difficult for trust and comfort to be established when these initial contacts are infrequent.

Please note that all therapy sessions are being conducted virtually until further notice.

Insurance Information

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC. I also contract with Headway to provide services for clients with Aetna, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar Health insurance plans. Self-pay clients and those wanting to use their “out-of-network” benefits are also welcome.

Please be sure to see what your co-pay and/or deductible will be for outpatient mental health services.

Other insurance companies may consider me an out-of-network provider. I encourage you to call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your “out-of-network” benefits, so there aren’t any financial surprises. You will be responsible for fees at the time of our appointment. I will give you a super-bill at the end of each session, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

If you are interested in being reimbursed by your insurance company, it is best to find out what your insurance will cover.

Some good questions to ask include:

Do I have out of network mental health benefits?

What is my out of network deductible? Has it been met?

How many therapy sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Telehealth Available to NC, SC, & FL Residents

In addition to providing telehealth to residents of NC, I am an out-of-state telehealth provider for the state of Florida (Registration #TPMC2953): https://flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/. I am also a Professional Counselor Telehealth Provider in South Carolina (Credential #388): https://llr.sc.gov/TeleHealth/Counselor.html.

Telehealth may be a good option if you are unable to attend sessions in person. A stable internet connection, email, and a credit/debit card are needed to participate. Before our first meeting, I will provide instructions for connecting to a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth system. I will also send you several forms via email for you to complete and return to me before this initial session. We will also establish procedures for online payment.

During our first session together, I will gather information about you, your history, your current difficulties and where you want to be in your life. We’ll work together to define your goals for therapy and your focus for each session.

Similar to in-person counseling, sessions are 60 minutes long and we’ll meet weekly to start. Weekly sessions will allow you to deepen trust in our relationship, feel more safety to do your work, maintain focus and consistency on the therapy process, and more quickly achieve your goals.
