You are not Alone
The anxiety support group meets weekly in Downtown Hendersonville.
Summer 2017 Group Forming Now!
When you’re dealing with anxiety, you may feel like you are struggling to get through the day without falling apart. You may walk around pretending that everything is fine in front of friends, family, and colleagues, while secretly you’re battling inner voices of self-doubt, criticism, or fears that you’re going to fail, and the world will find out you are a fraud. This charade is exhausting and can leave you feeling drained at the end of the day–with no time or energy to put towards the people and things that make you happy.
The Anxiety Support Group can give you some relief. By connecting with other people who are experiencing similar issues, you will feel understood, supported, and less isolated by your experience.
What do we do?
We spend time at the beginning of each session checking in about current stressors and what’s been working/not working over the past week. I then lead the group through a guided meditation or breathing exercise to practice different ways of grounding ourselves to the present moment. There is a different lesson each week, along with discussions and a simple assignment, worksheet, or project, which helps to practice or integrate the lesson. For examples of several grounding techniques, click here.

When do we Meet?
Meetings will resume on August 9th and meet for a 9-week semester.
August 9th to October 4th 2017
$20 Registration Fee + $10 per group
Where do we Meet?
Groups are held at 307 N Main Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues, in Downtown Hendersonville. Mountain Creative Arts is above McFarlan’s Bakery, in-between the red vending machine and Flat Rock Ciderworks. Ring the bell, and I’ll buzz you in the building. Once you go up the stairs, turn to the right (around the railing), and we’ll be around the corner.
Free parking along Main Street has a three-hour restriction, Monday through Saturday, from 8am to 6pm. So, you should be fine for duration of the group. There are also several paid parking lots around the area. Visit Downtown Hendersonville’s parking page for the locations..
